This Creepy Thriller
Derrickson's locked-room horror holds up well even without a sequel. Taking place in 1978 Denver, multiple disappearances has made the local kids anxious. The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the struggle between God and Mammon, the winner is obvious for Mammon in Michael Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation regarding the shamed televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield portrays the venal Jim, who proclaims early on, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals begin profiting from the people's religious faith. It's a riot of poor styling, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, though Jessica Chastain succeeds to show the character in a likable light. Next Tuesday, late night, Film4
